Join Us!

The Bugs & Brain Research Group is looking for passionate, curious, and driven scientists to join our team at Moffitt Cancer Center.

We are an interdisciplinary research group studying the role of the microbiome in brain tumors — from metastatic dormancy to disease progression and immunotherapy response. If you are excited about tackling big questions at the intersection of microbiology, immunology, and neuro-oncology, we'd love to hear from you. We welcome applicants from diverse scientific backgrounds and at all career stages.

Postdoctoral Fellows

We are actively recruiting postdoctoral fellows with a background in cancer biology, microbiology, immunology, tumor microenvironment, or a related field. Experience with mouse models, bacterial culture, spatial technologies, single-cell analysis, or bioinformatics is a plus, but we value curiosity and drive above all.

Postdoctoral fellows will receive individualized mentorship with a focus on building an independent research project, developing a strong publication record, and securing external fellowship funding, and expanding their professional network. Your long-term career goals — whether in academia, industry, or beyond — will shape how we work together.

To apply, please email Dr. Morad at [golnaz.morad@moffitt.org] and include a brief description of your research interests and career goals, your CV, and contact information for two to three references.

Graduate Students

We welcome rotation students from the University of South Florida graduate programs. If you are interested in rotating in the lab or joining us for your thesis research, please reach out to Dr. Morad directly with a brief introduction and your CV.

Undergraduate & Post-Baccalaureate Students

We are committed to training scientists at every level. Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students interested in gaining hands-on research experience in cancer biology and the microbiome are encouraged to get in touch. Please send a brief statement of interest, your CV or resume, and your availability to [golnaz.morad@moffitt.org].
