Community-Based Participatory Research Training Program (CBPRTP)
Our program prepares postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty members for careers in community-based participatory research. This unique training program includes a series of educational, collaborative, and field activities that expand investigator skill-set in community-based participatory research theory and practice. Our trainees are duly mentored by a community and academic leader. By linking new investigators to the community through mentorship and immersion activities, this program provides an understanding of economic, social and cultural perspectives. Together, our goal is to create sustainable and effective community-based interventions to impact cancer disparities.
All Trainees will have:
- • Access to local training and field placement
- • Funding to attend additional training opportunities
- • Access to apply for pilot project funds
- • Small group workshops with nationally recognized experts
- • Opportunities for meaningful interaction and relationship building with community partners
- • Outstanding academic and community mentorship within a highly supportive environment TBCCN’s first cohort of junior investigators (i.e., Trainees) graduated from the program in the summer of 2012. The current cohort will graduate in 2014.
We are excited to introduce you to our current trainees and mentors:
