Sabeen Ahmed

Ph.D. Fellow

Sabeen Ahmed is in her fourth year of Ph.D. and has recently transferred from Rowan University to join Moffitt Cancer Center. Sabeen’s research focus is to provide mechanisms for self-assessment and failure detection in clinical predictions pertaining to segmentation and classification tasks. She has a published paper on detecting failure in medical imaging where she has used Bayesian deep neural networks to build two different failure detection mechanisms. She plans to extend her work by optimizing failure detection for cancer imaging datasets. Sabeen has worked on time-series datasets and implemented Bayesian uncertainty quantification in LSTMs. She has an archive paper on Transformer tutorial that covers the mathematical intuition behind Transformer operations. The tutorial covers the adaptations proposed in the architecture for various time-series tasks and shares the best practices for training Transformers.
