Our studies are rooted in gene discovery using mouse models of cancer to define novel events promoting cancer progression. Our discovery pipeline is validated in patients using comparative analyses. Our long-term research goals are to identify new vulnerabilities of metastasis that can be leveraged for treatment options for patients.
Deriving mechanistic insights from processes driving metastasis

Our research aims to understand how transcriptional reprogramming and alternative splicing deregulation drives protein diversity that promotes cancer metastasis. We model these changes in vivo and ex vivo and validate our findings using patient datasets. We employ multidisciplinary approaches to gain mechanistic insights into processes driving metastasis.

Sleeping Beauty Insertional Mutagenesis
Sleeping Beauty is a gene discovery tool in mice that models the iterative process of mutation and selection during cancer development.
Pancreatic Cancer Metastasis Drivers
We study novel drivers differentially expressed during tumor progression that confer metastatic potential using mouse models of pancreatic cancer.
Cooperating drivers and tumor evolution
We use single cell sequencing to identify cooperating drivers in tumor sub clones that contribute to disease initiation, progression, and therapeutic response.
