Payman is an applied post-doctoral research fellow in the Machine Learning Department and is working with Dr. El Naqa’s research team. Payman has a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering, and he recently graduated from the University of South Florida (USF) with PhD in Industrial Engineering. His research is a combination of Data Science and Operations Research, and his fields of expertise are Machine Learning and Optimization. He has authored 6 articles published in highly-ranked journals and developed several open-source packages in different languages such as C++, Python, and R. He started doing research in radiotherapy during the second year of his PhD, which resulted in a published article and a patent currently under revision by USF.
