Minority communities continue to be underrepresented in cancer clinical trials, which can lead to widening cancer health disparities. To address this important problem, the “Advancing Clinical Trials: Working through Outreach, Navigation and Digitally Enabled Referral and Recruitment Strategies” (ACT WONDER2S) research study team at Moffitt Cancer Center (Moffitt) will tackle this issue head on.
Funded by the National Cancer Institute and part of the CUSP2CT network, the goal of the ACT WONDER2S study is to increase referral and enrollment of Black and Hispanic patients to therapeutic clinical trials at Moffitt by developing and implementing a comprehensive multi-level intervention that includes digital and community components deployed in the community and within Moffitt.
We will deploy the digital tools and educational efforts in Fall 2024 across certain counties in Florida. After a two-year period, our team will examine whether this approach enhances referral and participation of diverse communities in cancer clinical trials.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about the ACTWONDER2S study!
